In the current Health scenarios Telehealth Expansion, Trends and Challenges in Remote Patient Monitoring and Virtual Nursing Care is a vital part of healthcare system.
Bibliometric Analysis: Telehealth Expansion, Trends and Challenges in Remote Patient Monitoring and Virtual Nursing Care
Abstract
According to the current research landscapes of telehealth expansion, this bibliometric analysis is based on 2015-2024 research data, the main concern was about virtual care nursing care and remote care aspect of patient monitoring (RPM-Remote Patient Care). A significant growth in research output, especially during the COVID-10 pandemic, and identified key trends of nursing and medication research, challenges and modern aspects of telehealth are discussed and revealed in this analysis
Introduction
By the global pandemic and advancing technologies of modern era, speed up telehealth and emerge as transformative force in the health delivery system. In this bibliometric analysis the main concerns were about the examination of the publication patterns, research impact and geographical contribution in the current database with evolutionary pattern of telehealth specifically virtual nursing care and remote patient monitoring.
Methodology
The source of data was from some authentic and reputed scientific databases e.g. Web of Sciences, Scopus and Science Direct regarding telehealth and remote patient monitoring. The focus was on remote patient monitoring and virtual nursing care aspects, from the peer reviewed articles, published clinical trials and systemic reviews during 2015-2024 in health care facilities and community.
Results and Discussion
The current data can be analyzed and interpreted in a different way as described earlier following are main concerns given below:
Publication Growth Analysis
A fast increase in the trends and interests of health care research can be shown by Growth and no of publication year wise on annual base data as following: (Year/No of Publications)
In 2015/245
In 2019/580
In 2020/1,850
In 2023/2,340
In 2024/2,600 plus
Geographic Distribution of Research Output (2020-2024)
Country wise day shows regional concerns and participation according to need and interest:
- Asia Pacific (Australia: 6%+China: 5%+Japan: 4%+South Korea: 3%+Other Asia-Pacific: 2%)
- Europe (United Kingdom: 8%+Germany: 6% + Netherlands: 5% + Other European countries: 9%)
