Non Random Sampling
Sampling Methods Characteristics And Properties And Selection Of Sampling Method For Research Study.
There are two main methods of sampling, random sampling and non-random sampling. Random sampling is known as the sampling technique where the probability of selecting each sample is equal.
The random sample is an unbiased representation of the total population. If the chosen sample does not represent the population at all, this leads to sampling errors. Non-random sampling is a sampling technique in which the selection of the sample is based on factors other than chance. In other words, nonrandom sampling is inherently biased. Here the sample is selected based on the convenience, experience or criteria of the researcher.
The following are some of the differences between random sampling and non-random sampling.
